just heard on 702 that maintenance is being conducted on Seacom, any impact on CW? (not that I've noticed anything)
 
Hey CW, wanted to know when we'd get more info on product/pricing changes as a result of Telkom's IPC (and other) price reductions.

As I understand it, uncapped users are fine with the prices and would rather have extra investment into the network.

But as a home capped user, the network is already more than good enough for my needs. I barely have shaping on the protocols I use, even in business hours (no torrents/news). So I would prefer an increase in the cap sizes and/or a price reduction.

Can we get a time frame for any possible announcements?

we don't anticipate anything specifically affecting us although as always where there is less capacity on one pipe people with access to another will use that access (people flaring up non-Seacom accounts)
 
When we're ready to do so. Sorry, we cannot comment on a public forum on any of this just yet.

Ok cool, wanted to know as I need to downgrade my capped account. The 200+800 package is simply well above my needs. Only used 65GB's of the anytime data and it's the 29th.

Will contact support to let them know to process the downgrade for June. Then if you make any product/price changes I'll contact them again.
 
I fully agree with not dropping prices.
The current price points are perfect for the service I get.
I, and I'm sure many others, would prefer the savings be re-invested in the network.
We'd rather have lower contention than lower prices.....

Curious to know if others feel the same way?

We will run a survey on this soon as well, but initial feedback would be appreciated.

It will be cool if the contention ratio can come down a bit, or less shaping on the Premium Home Uncapped packages during peak times. Please don't move the price slider upwards to make this happen - ;)

Agree with everyone else, better product for the same price. A slightly lower price if it would allow but not at product degradation.

Lol - I just chatted to support like 2 hours ago, and I'm trying to sign up for uncapped premium. Just my luck.

All sorted now. DDOS attack. Not sure how this hasn't made the news yet. It's massive and widespread at the moment, and has brought down a few companies already for quite some time longer than what we just went down for.

I've been streaming Microsoft Build 2015 live with not a single buffering event. Just wanted to drop a message to say how impressed I am. Last year the buffering was so absolutely insane on my previous ISP that I could not watch it live.

Very happy :)
 
Quick question CW,
Do you know of any issues with DStv Now streaming quality? It's trying to stream in high quality, but stream quality seems to be stuck on 240p (eugh). Not sure if it's a DStv issue (very likely, I'm sure), or something funny with prioritisation or some such.

I'm having major issues with Mweb - cant even load my gmail - all the google services are strained actually. So I just signed up for home uncapped premium from you guys - after chatting to a support person who said I'll receive my login details tonight.

But because of my crappy connection, when I clicked the final button on the sign up form, the final page never loaded.. so I started over.. as I finished that.. I got an email saying my "account has been received and is being processed" but that email arrived awfully close to when I submitted the second one.. so I think that email was in response to the first application attempt.

So I'm not sure if you guys got my application twice in a row? Also - will I actually get the login details tonight?

Duplicates go into a vetting system to be approved by management before doing anything, so it won't be processed twice unless you specifically agree to it after we manually verify. And yes, your details should be with you this evening. :)
