Can't even upload properly on vodacoms 3g it uploads a bit then it goes to 0B/s
Have they blocked FTP NOW?
I am trying to upload photographs to both Flickr and www.ephotozine.com and each time it starts on a massive speed but within 5 seconds is petered down to nil and the upload fails. This is browser based uploads. Been like this the last couple weeks so assuming this is an issue Vodacom is aware of. Based outside Nelspruit.

Thats the exact same symptoms I'm having. I just went to buy a new 3g modem, as I thought my old e220 had seen its last day. New modem, same problem. Speedtest.net doesnt even finish its test, the upload part just sits there and smiles at me.
Please call 155 and log a fault and/or post the required details as per the first post so you can be helped.

This is becoming a frustration of note.
I get disconnected on a daily basis where the 3G signal just disappears in my area. When the signal is available it is horribly slow:
I do not know who to complain to about this anymore. This problem has been ongoing since July 2009 and all that Vodacom keep on telling me is that a new tower is planned for my area. It's almost been a year now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have applied for an ADSL line, but Telkom told me that due to copper theft in my area they will not be able to supply me with one.
How do I get Vodacom to assist me: Do I gather a few friends with 4x4's to demolish their tower in order to draw their attention!!!!!!!!!???????
Please VD can you assist me with this issue!!!!!!????????
What's frustrating me to no end is that I could lose my job over this, as a fast, reliable connection is at the core of my employment. I've had similar speeds to you for nearly 2 weeks now, this week I've had no signal more than anything else. I just dont know what to tell my employers anymore, but I'm growing weary of making excuses for VC now. I got my 3g signal back about an hour ago, guessing the cable break is now resolved, http://www.speedtest.net/result/850441345.png ...can call that a 3g signal though?. How I'm supposed to upload 400mb to our ftp in Dubai with that sort of service is anybodies guess, but since I've been practically unreachable online this week, I might aswell throw in a missed deadline for good measure. How can Northgate Vodashop, a mere 1 km from me have no problem at all, full signal and full speed when I'm getting this sort of connection. Is the threshold between good signal and crappy signal as little as 1km?
I hate complaining, but this is affecting so much more than recreational downloading, this is threatening my job, and that makes me very nervous. VodacomData, I apprciate the updates via PM, but the issue is never resolved. When the cable breaks are fixed, I'm left with terrible signal as opposed to no signal.
I am still battling with my speed, can't even FTP to my client's domains. I called VC's 155 earlier and guess what they blamed it on: Windows 7. I wanted to blow my top at first, but then decided to follow protocol and go through the motions. They asked me to download the latest version of VMC a 70MB download. Well it took me about 4hrs to download at my current connection speed. It is now installed and surprise, surprise my connectivity problem is still exactly the same. I could have told them so. Don't always blame it on the customer: I use 6-8Gb of your expensive data per month so I have the right to complain!!!!!!!!!!
The Vodacom rep in this forum is nowhere to be seen so I guess it's time to get nasty and approach Hellopeter.com
The amount of times I've been told to reboot my pc, remove and reinstert my sim, or that windows is to blame, is simply a joke. The problem in my area is definitely not end user related, as I'm sure is the case for many of the recent complaints over here. I also use around 6GB every month, much of which is wasted due to dropped connections when I'm uploading/downloading large files. The rest of my bandwidth has been used in Northgate's parking lot outside the Vodashop, where I've had to sit for hours at a time uploading files in recent months. I've simply taken my business elsewhere for the moment, as I've found my MTN sim performs as my VC one used to: http://www.speedtest.net/result/851249021.png
At the end of the day, you pay Vodacom for a service, they're not doing us a favour by giving us bandwidth or connectivity. Its a service, one they're not delivering on, so my money goes to somebody who is.
You say that your MTN sim is working OK. Maybe I must also just take my 8GB/month away from Vodacom and start using MTN. Vodacom obviously don't need my business. Good point!!! Let's vote with our feet.
