Hello,

I am experiencing a similar problem to The Thug in the Northcliff, Fairlands area. I get an HSDPA connection but no data will transfer, however if I use a standard 3G connection on the same device data will transfer without an issue. The problem arose at about the same time as The Thug (in a similar area), so it might be related.

When I use the device in Auckland Park it works perfectly with an HSDPA connection.

Regards

Very Angry Vodacom Client! what the Hell is going on here!
I'm trying to work!

1) Location: Primrose Park, athlone, Cape Town
2) Time of issue: Seems to happen every time I am on the internet.
Short stint of 3G/HSDPA, then right down to GPRS/EDGE
3) Device: Huwai E220
4) Contract Type: Pre-paid
5) Existing reference numbers: NONE, don't want to waist my airtime.
6) speed.vodacom.co.za results (if possible): Down:0.11 mbps Up:0.05 mbps (16/11/2009 - 10:24 am)

I demand a good answer! I moved from MTN cause I thought VOdacom is better..Wow! What a shocker!

2) Have you tried setting your connection to 3G only?
5) Calls to customer care (111) and Data Support (155) are free from a Vodacom SIM.

Having huge latency and packet loss issues since last night. Logged a fault with 155. Problem seems to be on the breakout of Vodacom's network because the speedtest is fine.

1) Location: Edgemead
2) Time of issue: Since Friday evening
3) Device: B970
4) Contract Type (pre-paid, contract, hybrid): Contract
5) Existing reference numbers from 155: S2-Y9N2L-L460S
6) speed.vodacom.co.za results (if possible):

Download Speed: 3577 kbps (447.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1068 kbps (133.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

This is back again. Called 155 apparently the status of my case is still pending and thus open (can you believe ).

Surely that's better than them closing it without doing anything?

Well before VodacomData intervened the last time they seemed more than happy to call my office number then the fax number (on a Sunday) and finally my cell, not leave a message and then close the call.

i want to handle my problem face to face.,which i will be doing.either that or buy a m t n sim and see if its any better.I could try a different a p n.

Looks like my problem got fixed on Wednesday evening around 9PM. Latency on pings to the first hop in the Vodacom network dropped from it's average of 400ms (when pings worked) down to 100ms and has remained pretty consistent since.

I got this message for the first time last night up till this morning @ 9am at various locations ---------------> "Dear valued customer, You currently do not have sufficient funds to continue with your Internet session. Kindly recharge your account before attempting to reconnect. For assistance, please contact Vodacom Customer Care on 082 111 (free from a Vodacom cellphone)."

I had 2 gigs of data and a few rands so it was obviously a system anomaly which "corrected itself."

Anyone else have this glitch? Who's to blame?

Hi

Checked with IN(prepaid) there was a problem, which is now resolved.

Grinding to a halt.
I've had this problem 2 days in a row now from different locations (Pinelands, Cape Town CBD). I start of at 7:30 with good internet speed, but by about 9:00/10:00 it just grinds to halt. The Mobile Connect application shows a HSDPA connection and througput, but I cannot even navigate to the vodacom speed test site or any other website.
I have to restart the connection and sometimes more than once.
What's the story?
