Uncapped ADSL prices compared

That is if you can afford the 4mbps line... so you can't really tell me NOT to complain. On the 4mbps the shaping wont be too obvious if you are just browsing, but when you are on a 1mbps line (like me) then the shaping starts to get ridiculous...

Don't really know what you are on about? I'm on 1MB and shaping is only apparent on torrents etc...and only during office hours...
Browsing is not shaped btw...go check...my torrents run at 30KB/s during office hours yet when i donwload via http it maxes out at 95KB/s or somewhere there about.

My bad - meant throttling, and no I am not using MWEB.

AFRIHOST has not come to the party!

I have had great service from them but thinking of moving on, just on the price issue.

If AFRIHOST don't reduce their 1MB uncapped price soon, I'm moving.:wtf:

Im assuming thats a 4mb/10mb account, anyone with a 384 or 1mb account that can share their thoughts on mweb uncapped here?

True true. But I've only had 4Mbps for about 14 months. From the day after Mweb announced uncapped to when I upgraded I had the 384Kbps account and I loved that at the time. Http downloads were always 30-39KB/s. I'd had such issues with getting capped over the years, spending more than I should on internet and always obsessing over not disconnecting my active session (if I didn't break the connection each of my three 1GB accounts with 9GB local data could be used for 10GB international), that I've pretty much worshipped Mweb ever since they introduced uncapped.

While Mweb should get some major points for dropping the pricing of their uncapped ADSL first, forcing the other ISPs to follow suit .... Mweb's price change is only effective (for existing clients) as from the 1st JUNE 2012. New customers benefit from the price change immediately, while existing customers must wait another 30 days.

Why? Because Mweb raises their invoices on the 30th March for May's ADSL usage... so the invoice has already been generated even though it is only paid on the 30th April... so it's too late to change anything!

**** excuse.
