@CW

CW Traipse artist lost it balance. Demand outweighs supply.
That is a fact look at performance you are getting.

Actually, it is a video site and with CW promoting streaming so well, I am getting good speeds while downloading the material I am watching. ;) I have the luxury of waiting one more month so I am in no rush to change just yet :).

I'm curious how many of you are not going to pay for this month?

I already paid for this month. Sent a cancellation email which hasn't received any response. Whether there is a response or not, there won't be any payment next month.

The account is usable though and speeds are okay, just way too much packet loss for a premium account.

This is my problem as well. I have packet loss on almost every hop.

Sent my cancellation email to support and billing yesterday...no response. I better not get another invoice end of this month as I will not pay it.

Well, that's just plain rude.

Not even an automatic acknowledgement of receipt?

Good day

Waited patiently but it seems to no avail so thought I might send out a shout to ask for assistance. I live in Hartbeespoortdam, only very recently (3-4 days ago) got 4mb uncapped ADSL from Crystalweb. As far as I understand(my brother is a little more in the loop than I am), our line is still with Telkom but will at some point be migrated to CW as well to form the package.

But the ADSL itself has been offline the entire day. Like, nada. Zip.

I've checked as thoroughly as I can, the issue isn't in my house. I mean, it was working this morning between 10-11 for an hour then off again. Just wanna know if it's CW side, is it telkom? Where to look and how to solve?

Thanks.

Something is amiss here, According to their website:

"How about uncapped unshaped internet as standard?"

Well surely Capped accounts should be unshaped ALL the time.

"Did you know that our network is always prioritised for streaming?"

Always - That's a bit of a hectic promise?

"No calendar month cancellation terms. You can trust the Crystal Web network."

Fine Print - If we do not reply to your emails which request cancellation then your cancellation is not applicable and the problem will go away - Nope, Doesn't work like that.

Get your act together and I'll consider paying next months invoice, Or you know, You could always reply to my cancellation email.

On CW support at the moment.

There has been a Telkom notice which has been sent out, regarding the fact that their exchanges are currently running on battery power due to the Power outages, and thus would result in the quality of throughput lowering, the issues you are currently experiencing are more in likely hood not caused from our end

Wow - Crystal Webs support is starting to sound very much like Afrihosts.

Cannceled them and by the looks of things will not be jioning them again soon. ISP modus operandi is just pay me and shut it. This is a best effort service so it gives us the right to do what we want. Nothing different here. We will talk to you when we are good and ready.

Indeed, I am not sure where their "transparency" disappeared to.

Crystal Web - The new Open Web.

Mr. Beep is that you??

Funny that while I sit in the dark on ups power, my internet is full speed with another ISP.

Exactly, Exchanges run on Battery backup when the power goes out, That is correct as crystal web support said.

The limited throughput part is complete rubbish, Infact you should have higher throughput because nobody else would be on that exchange because everyones routers are off, Therefore alleviating Exchange Congestion.

Unless of course everyone in the area runs on UPS's, Which is highly doubtfull unless it is the land of IT guys - LOL.

My first thought was to try switching to my prepaid WA account to see if this makes a difference, but rather than do that and go down the slippery path I've been down with OpenWeb, having used it multiple times to prove that only their ISP was being affected, I chose to rather close the chat support window and go play some PS4. I'd rather not know at this point :(
