Ok, HTTP and imgur / images in general are ridiculously fast this morning.

Was a change / fix made or is it just a case of the majority of the country still being asleep?

Sorry copa. We have responded and followed up with Telkom for your fault but we are at their liberty to resolve...

All good, I understand that you are constrained by their whims, as anyone else would be.

I wonder what's going on though - Things have been so good up until now, I wonder what they are doing, ffs.

This is really annoying as I thought to give your ISP a go again. Firstly I waited more than an hour for log in details to no avail. I hopped on to live chat and got it resend, finally got the email but could not log in due to this issue. Had an engagement somewhere so thought I will give it some time.

Well came back 23h00 and still the same issue. Needless to say this morning same thing now I have to wait till 10h00 for live chat to sort out something that you are aware of?

Hmm, ok, back to poor http/image loading. This is starting to look like a capacity problem.

Config issue at cybersmart. If it was capacity, other traffic would also slow down

Then why would it change between early and late morning?
Assigned capacity on a throttle bucket being used up, perhaps? Because traffic incorrectly categorised?
Just speculating here...

I apologise. Authentication issues are isolated to one realm and a few random clients, and I'm unable to find the exact culprit here as the auth logs are held upstream. We may offer 24 hour support but they don't, and direct requests there went unresolved as well.

I am on it this morning with them though for you.

I'm on a capped account though, which I understand is meant to be unshaped/throttled at all times. Early this morning it was actually faster than other ISPs, wish we could isolate the problem so it could always be like that.

Like I said, incorrectly classified traffic.

Capped or uncapped?

I signed up and paid for capped on Monday and it worked fine until Thursday - router logs show "login failed", all other ISP accounts working fine.

Logged a ticket yesterday evening which was acknowledged but still unable to login this morning :(

It's not capacity, that's for sure. In all likelihood this is a config issue - we don't directly control the config until about a month from now when we take that over, so for the time being I'm a little hamstrung in doing it myself, but we are following up now about the few remaining gremlins.

These are:

HTTP downloads (random - no issues for some, others are seeing some problems)
NNTP downloads (very limited to a few customers not getting full speeds)
Gaming lag (this seems to be game-specific and also isolated, so it's also been reported off to see what's going on - I have looked at this myself and it is classifying correctly on our end so some other sort of config issue is at play here, possibly)

@Crystal Web mornin please would you have one of your techies give me a call, I would like to get that account set up :) thanks

Sure thing. Can you PM me your username?

Or you can simply head over to our live chat section and talk to us live? May be easier.

So when will we know about this symmetrical network thingy? Will you ever fix the issues with single-thread HTTP on the Cybersmart backbone? I'd like to see something before the 24th so I can make up my mind about what I'm going to do about internet this year.

I detect a potential disgruntled customer.

It's BEFORE the 19th! ;)
