Doing a 5gb update for a game - first 1gb came down fast at line speed (10m). Now it's crawling at 100kb/s.

Pretty sure I paid for a unshaped capped account...where is it? I got a heavily shaped capped account in stead.
 
Morning all,

there have been some major Telkom upgrades the last few days....which clearly was not implemented correctly...causing faults on their core network and access infrastructure. Thus the authentication issues are only part of the greater problem.

Numerous customers of different ISPs are also affected by this "upgrade" of Telscum..
 
Would the Telkom upgrades/changes/whatever affect latencies and streaming on CW too? If so, then thanks - understood. If not, however, then what the hell is going on. I was again unable to stream YouTube in anything more than 480p last night. After midnight. On a 10mbps line.
Usage is below the 200gb threshold, and paying premium for something that behaves like this isn't on.
(Again, that is if it's not Telkom's fault - in which case, ignore the rant)
 
My line just cam up from being off since yesterday around this time.. Yay :)

Was a Telkom issue in the area..

5kb/s on a virus definition update. This is seriously upsetting. I don't even feel like paying for December. I should have canceled this crap but was hoping there would be improvement and gave them a chance. Am regretting that now.

seems CW is gonna have to spend alot of time fighting unhappy customers for their money from the looks of it!
 
Well I am happy to say that my account has improved drastically. Getting close to 10Mb speeds on my 20Mb account.

Well maybe I'm one of the lucky ones with the telkom upgrades, but my account is looking way better than it was this time last week
 
I was told end of the week.

I was told the same, but they don't know when the end of the week is going to be Friday or Sunday. My week ends Friday so hopefully it is Friday and not month end on Sunday:whistle:.

In the same boat. Not going to pay this invoice if the general speeds don't improve by 1 December...

I will gladly pay my subs if I can get time to get into internet banking. If all else fails I'll have to visit the bank on Saturday morning.

That's the state of SA telecoms though. Take your pick of any one of the ADSL threads and it's pretty much horror story, after horror story, after horror story!

Everyone is basically reselling the same old s hit, just packaging it slightly differently. At the end of the day, a turd in a brown paper bag and a turd in a gold plated jewellery box... is still a stinky old turd...
