Again with the "alluring" title. If you can't title your threads correctly then merge / renaming it is for you...

Besides it's nice to see that the problems thread isn't all doom and gloom ;)

Well I have posted my complaints many times on this forum, as complaining to their 155 service is a waste of time and energy.
Why won't VC advise their customers which towers are 7.2 or more capable? At least then we will know what to expect.
VD when will the tower at the corner of Kingfisher and Trichardt streets in Sunward Park, Boksburg be upgraded for speed and capacity?

I think the way we are treated by VC is shocking and deserves the contempt it receives.

Except for the latency and upload speeds?
Wow! Vodacom, what have you done wrong???

Just hope VC can sustain the d/l speed.
Thanks

Now this is what we have in Nelspruit the past year or so:

Amazingness! :p (full signal HSDPA)

I don't know why people are still complaining .... this is what Vodacom 3G is all about. I've always had problems. It's just the frequency of these problems that changes. Sometimes everything will be working fine for a couple of days with the odd disconnect/timeout/no throughput, then all of a sudden all hell breaks loose where I struggle for a day or sometimes 2 days to get a stable connection. This is NEVER gonna change people.

This is just my opinion ... but Vodacom 3G is THE MOST UNRELIABLE BROADBAND SERVICE PROVIDER in S.A

But what else did you expect .... we are living in South Africa where paying for bad service is now the norm ...

Vodacom does indeed have it's troubles, I've had my fair share of them in the last 7 years. Given Vodacom's massive growth you can expect the wheels to be falling off regularly. The biggest part of the problem however I believe is actually Telkom, without Telkom links there is no Vodacom 3G and we all know just how reliable Telkom is. I've been having ongoing problems for 6 months but especially bad problems in the last 6 weeks with constant disconnections throughout the day. Last week Vodacom finally traced this to none other than a fault with the Telkom link from the Vodacom Mast to the Telkom Microwave Tower. Telkom "fixed" this on Friday which actually made things even worse and I had a bloody awful weekend trying to get anything done. Seems the link has been replaced this morning and all looks ok (for now) .... the truth is as long as Vodacom, MTN, Cell C and the rest are beholden to the Telkom Puppetmaster, things in this country are never ever going to improve. Telkom has and will continue to stimie growth of the Internet in this country. I've heard rumours about Vodacom running their own fibre networks, when we'll ever see that who knows but the key to the future of the Internet in South Africa is DEATH to Telkom and major ISP's having the ability to run their own communication network without having to rely on Telkom to keep fixing their substandard infrastructure. Until then we will always be 20 years behind the rest of the world's communications abilities.

Hi All

PLease note that the GPRS and 3G service disruptions in the the Greater Krugersdorp and Fourways areas has been resolved.

Vodacom 3G down in Bryanston/Fourways area?

Hi guys, I'm working in a building in the Bryanston/Fourways area (corner of Bruton Road and William Nicol)... I'm doing a project which requires 3G access from 11 Trimble Windows Mobile GPS PDA's they bought and I've been struggling all morning to create a data connection from 5 new sim cards we've acquired yesterday. Then I noticed even my iPhone can't access any sites (local or international), well, actually, the only site that loads is Google.co.za.

Anyone else having any problems with their Vodacom data connections in this area? This is truly annoying, I have work to do and now I'm kinda stuck...
Thanks.

P.S. Thanks for moving my post/thread...
