Hi All,

Hope someone could give me some advice about the following pleas. I have been using Vodacom 3G for ever
to connect to net, but recently something odd has happened. I have signal and see 3 bars on the VMC dashboard
yet i have no activity. At times the signal will drop to 2 bars, and I am able to browse the web and do emails but it has become very slow indeed. I thought my PC had a issue, so formatted it and did a clean install of all apps.

I am not very technical as far as this goes but I tried the following. Downloaded mdma10030c, and ran it this is the info :

mnc 01
operator vodacom
rat 3G
LAC 53
RNC ID 307
Cell ID 32126

I live in Hibberdene KZN and also did a speedtest to Vodacom Durban with the following result .

Ping 89ms
DL 0.26mbs
UP 0.48

I tried data support and they told me it cant be that the upload is higher than the download, I dunno really kinda
at wittsend here.

Internet was seriously lagging early - couldn't even load the Vodacom speed test. A little better now.

Same problem as Abadon - speeds seriously down and speedtests giving higher upload than download.

Vodacom's HSPA is still strangled - on the Google page is even takes a while to load the logo. Made the mistake of getting the 20GB bundle which is impossible to use now .

Vodacom seems to be down parts of Krugersdorp. Only 3G is working but no voice calls can be made.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I was down in the Eastern Capes - Kei Mouth for the holidays. 3G/EDGE signal out there is poor to non-existant. MTN is fine however. Eventhough im not going there for another year please take a look as im sure other users down there are also frustrated with the lack of Vodacom Signal support

Anyone else having problems on HSPA? I am using a K3772 modem today with 20 gig special. I noticed that the modem at times starts to stall and no throughput. When the light goes dark blue (normal 3G), then it starts working...when it goes cyan...it stalls again. I have forced it onto 2G and seems to work on EDGE also.

It is kinda slow though hehe.

It seemed to have resolved itself later yesterday. I will see what it does today. Have brought it to work and will test here in Midrand also.

VC absolutely usef'knless in Nelspruit and White River since about 12 today, even on a signal strength of -74dBm. In the last two hours managed total data transfer of 14Mb. At that rate the 9Gb i have bought on that special is in no danger of getting used. Phoned 155, but gave up after listening to CR@P music and idiotic marketing for more than 25 minutes.

PS. I didn't even know www.vodacom.net and www.vodacom4me.co.za still existed? Either they do or whoever informed the people putting the verbal torture together forgot to tell them.

slow speed vodacom

hi,i game online regularly and have had the same issue since +- day before xmas.Slow download speed causing timeouts at worse.Have noticed it returns to normal almost exactly at 11.30 pm every night.Have MTN sim and no probs there.Speeds shoot up to over 3mbps late night /early morning.Thought it was heavy traffic for silly season.

Anyone else having problems with international? I have horrific speeds. It is making my pronz surfing unbearable! At this rate I cant see how I am going to finish my remaining 5 gigs!



It also seems to be very erratic. I get like a minute of good speed....and then it just slows down to a snail pace again!
