Struggled to connect this morning. Throughput is very erratic. Speeds are all over the place. It doesn't seem like "the network is stabilising" at all. On Wednesday it will have been TWO WEEKS of really crappy service from VC!

VD, what's the latest?

The problem last week was due to a cable break where contractors accidentally cut through a cable. This was done on Tuesday 13th and was repaired late the evening. There were many subsequent issues related to that which carried on for the week. Some clients were having problems logging on to their networks via VPN connections as well , this was also resolved on Friday.

Currently is poor; what is curently happening with Vodacom broadband.
This is not fun.
I get my signal from Dersley ; Springs.
Can someone please look into it?
I already phoned the call centre 082 155 they are not very helpful.
They don’t know the difference between the South or East Rand.

Thanks, Morné, but where does it leave the rest of us?

Throughput has been terrible today, to say the least! I have had to disconnect and reconnect numerous times! :(

Some problems may well have been resolved but the SLOW connections certainly haven't. MDMA shows I am connected HSDPA using a K3520 modem but the speed test at speed.vodacom.co.za gives me 0.12Mbps download and 0.26Mbps upload.

Tried last night.. and the issues still remain in Lenasia. Similar to MervynB - MDMA shows that Im connected HSDPA but when using VMC 3G is reported as been used (K3520-Z). I was not able to get a speed test - everything just times out all the time. But a speed test over the weekend gave me 0.18Mbps download and 0.12Mbps upload

Hi Spikry , as you well know by now there are a few problems on the network , but if you kindly pm me your number i can escalate it for you.

I don't just want to assume that your problem is related to the existing issues.

Thanks for the interest. I'm rather new at this so how do I send you a PM? (I take it this is a Personal Message.)

Duh! When all else fails, read the instructions. There's a menu item clearly marked "Private Messages". Not only slow throughput but slow operator!

Don't worry you'll become a pro soon enough. i have received the info.

Thanks:)

I've still a lot to learn. I've been trying to post a follow up here since early this morning but the forum keeps on rejecting my offerings despite the fact that I AM logged on and the page shows I have the necessary permissions.

At 06:45 I saw a download speed of 3.75Mbps and I thought all the problems had been resolved. Now at 09:30 the speed is down to 0.52Mbps which is certainly not acceptable for a so called broadband connection that purports to offer 7.2Mbps. Back in the day when all that was on offer was 1.8Mbps at least I used to see over 1.2Mbps regularly.

We're now into 3 weeks of disconnect problems out this side, today by far the worst day ever. Have been told a fix is being inplemented for our area but will see if it resolves the problem when done. Eish ... all these problems and the world cup is just 50 days away, hope we do not disappoint travellers to our continent.

Just thought I'd add that today so much garbage is being spewed out from the network that it first started locking up windows dial up networking and the modem causing me to have to reboot the pc all day but has now progressed into locking up windows networking altogether in the last 2 hours.
