Magaliesburg & 3G service now GPRS

It appears that the 3G/HSDPA service in Magaliesburg is now reduced to GPRS, anyone else having this problem? Before I connect my dashboard says HSPDA but just after I connect it reverts back to GPRS. Any ideas?

It is either a problem at your end or they are working on something.

It seems more likely that it is a problem at your end as you have HSDPA access before making a data connection.

1) Location: Magaliesburg (Magaliesburg village)
2) Time of issue: Since last week (18th or 19th Feb onwards)
3) Device: Huawei modem K3520
4) Contract Type (pre-paid, contract, hybrid): pre-paid
5) Existing reference numbers from 155:
6) speed.vodacom.co.za results (if possible): Upload=0.33 download=0.93

Hi Rep, my HSDPA connection has just switched to GRPS, I have tried on two devices with the same result. I have been using HSDPA services in the exact same location for just under 4 years so coverage is not a problem.

1) Location: Castleview, Germiston
2) Time of issue: 09:00 AM 22nd Feb 10
3) Device: Huawei B970
4) Contract Type (pre-paid, contract, hybrid): pre-paid
5) Existing reference numbers from 155:
6) speed.vodacom.co.za results (if possible): Too slow to get to page

Further more, I phoned 155, there was no option for slow connections and then when I requested to speak to a consultant, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the call centre is unavailable" :(

Vodacom Network Degrading??

Has anyone noticed how bad Vodacom's network has been over the last 2 weeks. Terrible reception, dropped calls, people cant reach me, i cant dial out at some points. And the best part is where I use to get full 3G signal, now I am lucky to get 1-2 kb download let alone Edge or GPRS??

And this is all in the Sandton Area. I am in the heart of the Sandton CBD. At home in Bramley same story.

WTF is going on???

I can't receive any data on my 3G - it connects but then wont send or receive any thing. Been to vodaworld they say the device is fine. Had the same problem 2 weeks ago and the rep here managed to reset something his side but this time this hasn't helped, so don't know what to do - could there be a problem with the tower in my area?

Come vodacom rep, do your magic again:cry:

I emailed Vodacom, my reference number is:
Your reference number is S2-5CY2P-PLMT0

Are you still having issues oupa? Please can you PM me that number again so that I can check on it. I will then send it on to VD to have a look or you can PM him directly should you wish.
